GT-1000 System Program (Ver.1.05)


How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your GT-1000.
  1. While holding down [ EXIT ] button, turn power ON.
    Continue to hold down EXIT until the GT-1000 logo appears on the display.
  2. After a short while, the version information appears on the display.
    If this shows the latest version (version 1.05 or later), there's no need to update your GT-1000.
  3. After verifying the displayed version, turn off the power.

Bug Fix
The following bug was fixed.
  • When selecting "JC-120 INPUT" in the AIRD OUTPUT SELECT and connect to a JC-120 input, some AIRD Preamps produce unintended sounds.
 
What you will need to update your GT-1000
  • GT-1000
  • USB cable
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )

Caution when performing the update
  • If you update on the normal mode of GT-1000 against the correct procedrue, this update data may destroy the system program.
  • Never power-off your GT-1000 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GT-1000 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "gt1000_sys_v105.zip" file on your computer to get the update file in the "gt1000_sys_v105" folder.
 
Procedure for the update
  1. Hold down [ WRITE ] button and turn on the power.
    * Continue to hold down WRITE until "GT-1000 Updater" appears on the display.
  2. Connect the computer to the GT-1000's USB port by a USB cable.
  3. Open the "GT-1000" drive folder in your personal computer.
    [ Windows users ]
    Within My Computer (or Computer), open "GT-1000" (or Removable Disk).
    [ macOS / OS X users ]
    On the desktop, open the "GT-1000" icon.
  4. Copy (drag and drop) the "GT-1000_UPA_up.bin" in the "gt1000_sys_v105" folder into the root directory of the "GT-1000" drive.
  5. After the copy has been completed, unmount or remove the drive on your computer.
    With Windows
    Right-click on the "GT-1000" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."
    With macOS / OS X
    Drag the "GT-1000" icon to the Trush icon in the Dock.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable.
    The message "Execute update ? ([WRITE]: execute, [Power off]:abort)" will appear on the display.
  7. Press [ WRITE ] button to start the update process.
  8. The message "Update is completed." will appear on the display when the update process completes.
  9. Turn the GT-1000 power off.
    Please verify the version number "1.05" with the procedure described in "How to tell the version" part of this document.
