Co-Founder, lead guitar player and composer for the pioneering Indian rock band AGNEE, Koco, as known popularly, has brought to life timeless hits and continues to inspire many in the musical journey of his life.
He believes that the art, music is bigger than the musician or creator and this ideology is what he feels keeps him on track and true to what he does.
His distinctive guitar sound, unique playing style and edge for technology sets him apart. After more than three decades of touring, composing, performing and producing music, he continues with his unrestrained brilliance to create and explore music.
As the lead guitarist and of Agnee, he has helped the band achieve tremendous success and fame with their album, innumerable singles, music in films and TV shows like The Dewarist, MTV Unplugged and the most recent, Times of Music for MX Player. The band’s single for MTV Splitsvilla theme song Aahatein won the GIMA award for the best pop-rock single and a host of their other songs have received nominations.
Koco’s passion for music and undying love for the guitar reflects in all aspects of the music created by him. He has worked across regional film industries, composing hits for Kannada movie Samara, sung by the late Dr Rajkumar, Marathi film Shala which got the MTV Video Music Award, theme song for Avengers and many Hindi and English numbers.
Koco is one of India’s most popular and well-respected guitar players and has been a part of the indie music scene in India since 1986, having been a part of some popular bands then. From the years 1991-2002 he was the primary composer and lead guitar player of the yester years hugely popular hard-rock band Agni.
He is one of the most important parts of the rock music history of India and has played a significant role in sensitizing people and popularizing rock music culture in the country with his Classic Rock, Blues, and Indian music influences.
Koco has been an endorsee for Paul Reed Smith Guitars India and has toured in the most remote parts of the country drawing huge audiences in times when the independent music scene in the country was just about kick starting.
He is an avid biker and loves to binge-watch.
